It was a terrible week in the news. The number who have died from the virus topped 100,000, then we had the killing of George Floyd by the police officer in Minneapolis and all the riots that have followed. I understand the fury behind those riots. Police killings, legal lynchings, keep happening and rarely is there a conviction of a police officer. The killing came on top of the disproportionate number of blacks who have died from the virus. Minorities are particularly vulnerable because of inadequate health care and living conditions.
Martin Luther King Jr.: “The ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people but the silence over that by the good people.” Our whole country should be protesting.
